Acer Liquid S1 Android smartphone announced, has a 5.7-inch screen

Acer has come out all guns blazing at Computex. Apart from its new UltraBooks and tablets, it has also launched the Liquid S1 Android smartphone. It’s Acer’s first smartphone to have a 5.7-inch display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.5GHz.

But one of the biggest reasons, the phablet seems attractive is because it runs on an almost stock version of Android 4.2, which some minor app related customisations.
Specs wise, we have a 720p 5.7-inch LCD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, dual-SIM capabilities and a microSD card slot. There are currently no details about its camera resolution and battery capacity.
This looks like a smartphone that has been designed for the Asian market and Acer says it will be available in Q3 starting at $427 or Rs 24,155 in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, UK and Germany. Currently, there is no word on a launch for India.
