Vodafone Huawei Ascend Mate coming soon with 4,050mAh battery

The Huawei Ascend Mate is headed to the UK and the 6.1-inch giant will soon be up for grabs through Vodafone. The Huawei smartphone had been unveiled at the CES this year, showing off its large screen which had drawn much attention then.

However, we cannot really count that as the gadget’s high point any more, considering the presence of devices like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 in the market. But a massive 4,050mAh battery which the phone packs is what should give it an edge over its rivals. This is exactly what James Powell, the company’s product director, has emphasized on when speaking about the handset. Commenting on the significance of a power pack in a device, he said that the manufacturer has conjured its own patented technologies for battery optimization called Quick Power Control and Automated Discontinuous Reception.

Powell went on to add that this should sanction an increased battery life by up to 30 percent as compared to any conventional smartphone. What remains to be seen is whether the OEM’s very own 1.5GHz quad core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor found in the Huawei Ascend Mate, will be able to survive in the reign of Qualcomm and Nvidia chipsets.

Vodafone hasn’t given out specifics regarding the price and availability information of the Ascend Mate as of now. The smartphone’s unlocked variant is out on Expansys at £344.99 and Amazon at £359.99. Seen below is a list of the smartphone’s core specifications:
